Covid Regulations

Belle -Done’ Boutique Hotel’s Risk Management PROGRAMME


The reported  COVID-19 cases in Emalahleni are currently low, but we are implementing protocols to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19. 

All staff employed at the establishment were in lockdown/self-isolation on the premises for the duration of Level 5 Lockdown. 

All staff are monitored daily for COVID–19 symptoms and staff temperatures are taken at the start and end of each shift.  

All staff currently working at the establishment completed the World Health Organization COVID-19 on-line training course.  

All staff are provided with PPE and hand sanitizers. 

All face shields and cloth face masks are washed / disinfected or replaced as per the World Health Organisation requirements.  



  • Guests have the option to make on-line bookings on our website 
  • In addition, guests have the option to complete their registration forms on our website 


Parking area 

  • Guests are welcomed by reception staff in parking area 
  • Reception staff wear masks/face shields and have hand sanitizer available 
  • Staff members’ hands are sanitized 
  • Guests’ hands are sanitized 
  • Luggage handles are sanitized 

Reception area 

  • Temperature testing of guests  
  • Should a guest present with a low-grade fever (37.3 degrees C or more), a mild cough, headache or shortness of breath, the guest would be advised to self-isolate off the premises and call the NICD helpline (0800 029 999) where information is supplied related to COVID-19 testing.  If self-isolation off the premises is difficult or impossible the guest would be isolated in our quarantine / self-isolation room on the premises 
  • Stationary and reception working area are sanitized in the presence of guests when they sign the guest register form 
  • Keys are sanitized in the presence of guests before handing keys to guests 
  • The COVID-19 guest register as per the requirements of the Local Public Health Department and the Department of Health, is be updated on a daily basis 
  • Should a guest or staff member present with a positive COVID-19 test result, all guests, the Local Public Health Department and the National Department of Tourism will be informed and the establishment will be shut down until the Department of Health gives permission to re-open the establishment  



  • Door handles are disinfected by staff before guests enter rooms 
  • Rooms are sanitized daily 
  • Rooms are deep cleaned after every check-out 
  • Sanitizer available in every room 
  • No magazines in room 
  • We have closed bins for hygienic disposing of any tissues and surgical face masks 
  • Air purifier in every room which: Traps and removes dust, pollen, microbes, chemicals and other pollutants from the air. 
  • Vaporizes essential oils for aroma-therapeutic benefits 
  • Neutralizes airborne bacteria, viruses and fungi 
  • Increases moisture and enhances oxygen levels in the air 
  • Increases negative ions to eliminate static and lower stress levels 
  • Eliminates bad smell from food, smoke, dander, household chemicals and other odours and leaves a refreshing aroma 

Communal Areas 

  • All surfaces (e.g. desks, tables and door handles) and objects (e.g. telephones, keyboards, keys to rooms and stationary) are wiped with disinfectant regularly to reduce contamination on surfaces touched by staff and guests  
  • We promote regular and thorough hand-washing by staff, contractors and guests by placing sanitizing dispensers in prominent places around the establishment and we make sure these dispensers are regularly refilled 
  • We display posters promoting hand-washing 
  • We ensure staff, contractors and guests have access to places where they can wash their hands with soap and water  


  • On-site chef 
  • Kitchen area is sanitized after every food stock delivery 
  • Kitchen staff wear face masks and regular washing of hands is part of their routine 
  • No buffets – only plated meals – to limit contamination of food 
  • Room service is recommended 
  • Breakfast-on-the-go and lunch packs are promoted 
  • Table placement and guest seating in dining area according to the World Health Organization recommendations 
  • Doors at dining area stay open to limit contamination through the touching of door handles 
  • Hand sanitizer available in dining area 
  • No coffee stations available in communal / dining area to limit contamination 
  • Replacement of table cloths after every meal 
  • Paper serviettes are available on request 
  • Placemats are sanitized and replaced after every meal 

  • All staff returning to work will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms 
  • Should any staff member present even a mild cough or low-grade fever (37.3 degrees C or more), headache or shortness of breath, the staff member will not be admitted to the premises 
  • Staff presenting with any COVID-19 symptoms, will be instructed to self-isolate off the premises and call the NICD helpline (0800 029 999) where information about COVID-19 testing will be shared 
  • No staff member presenting with COVID-19 symptoms will return to the premises prior to a negative COVID-19 test 
  • Staff members taking medication, such as paracetamol/acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin – which may mask symptoms of infection – will not return to work prior to presenting the establishment with a negative COVID-19 test  
  • Staff returning to work are required to successfully complete the World Health Organization on-line training on COVID–19 
  • Based on latest information about the spread of COVID-19 in the area, Yalla Yalla Boutique Hotel will assess the risks related to public transportation to work 
  • At the moment, none of the staff make use of public transportation to and from the establishment 
  • Should staff make use of public transport in future, PPE and alcohol-based hand sanitiser will be supplied to facilitate regular hand-washing to protect themselves 
  • To protect themselves, staff who may be at higher risk of serious illness (e.g. older employees and those with medical conditions such as diabetes, heart and lung disease) will not be permitted to return to work, should COVID-19 be spreading in Emalahleni 
  • Should a staff member present with COVID-19 symptoms and the COVID-19 virus is confirmed, all guests, a healthcare provider or the local public health department will be informed and the establishment will be shut down until the Department of Health gives permission to re-open the establishment
